Pelotonia: A grass roots bike tour with an end goal to eliminate cancer. Beginning August 28th, the two-day ride will cover as many as 180 miles. 100 percent of every donation will fund research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
Peanie: Our grandma. Short in stature and large in heart. Due to early detection, she's been breast cancer free for over a year. She's also the cutie pie to the right in the header. Did we mention she's one of 7?
So who are we? We are cousins. Sarah and Ashley-- our mothers daughters. They're about a year apart, we're about a year apart. Their grandmother, Peanie's mother Anna, fought cervical cancer long before the days of cancer research as we know it.
Sarah the older (and possibly wiser) half of this duo is a research coordinator at The Ohio State University Medical Center
If our grandma and great-grandma can fight the battle against cancer, so can we. We're determined to pay it forward to the strong women who shaped our mother's and our lives. By doing our small part, we hope to bike 50 miles and raise at least $2K directly for research. And, after all, we've been hanging out and riding bikes together since the 80's.
